People’s Place is the largest food pantry in Ulster County and the only food pantry open 5 days a week. All food is provided free of charge. The Personal Care Closet, located inside the food pantry area, offers families and individuals free items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and deodorant. Our Thrift Store provides free and affordable clothing, footwear, and household items.

Funding for People’s Place comes from individual donors, sponsors, grants, fundraisers, special events and our Thrift Store. The number of people we have helped to feed in our community has continued to grow by about 25% each year and has jumped exponentially during the Covid-19 pandemic, so People’s Place can benefit from your financial support throughout the year, as well as your donations of food and goods. You drop off your donations on the corner of Broadway and St. James Street in Kingston, NY between the hours of 10:00 am and 1:00 pm Monday through Friday, and Wednesday evenings from 4:30 till 6:30.

People's Place is expecting to help over 1,400 families with Thanksgiving Dinner this year. Together, we can all help make that happen! They are specifically looking for Gravy & Cranberry Sauce, stuffing, butter and even frozen turkeys to complete their gift baskets.
